CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
The Cardinia Foundation took some major steps during the 2008
year. Most notable were the appointment of an Executive Officer for
3 days per week and the establishment of a permanent office in the
Main Street of Pakenham. Both initiatives will assist greatly in
the development of the Cardinia Foundation as the peak
philanthropic body within the Shire of Cardinia.
The annual dinner continues as the major fundraiser for the
Foundation and the highlight of our calendar year. Other avenues of
income generation must be actively pursued to fund our
administration costs, grants to needy organisations within the
Shire and to continue to add to our investment portfolio for future
generations.
I thank our trustees for their involvement during the 2008 year
and for their continued contribution. I also thank the ‘Friends of
the Foundation’ and other enthusiastic supporters of the
Foundation.
