CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 2010
A solid year for the Cardinia Foundation where the following was
achieved –
- Our new structure was implemented. The previously cumbersome
structure of 4 trusts was eliminated and replaced with a charitable
company and trust. This will enable us to consolidate all
activities into the one vehicle thereby simplifying our reporting
and administration. It will also enable us to broaden the scope of
our charitable activities.
- A partnership with the Lord Mayors Fund was established. This
included the formation of the Cardinia Foundation Trust Account
within the Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation. This strategic
partnership added a gift of $100,000 to the Cardinia Foundations
assets and more importantly opens the door to the wealth of
experience and knowledge of the Lord Mayors Charitable
Foundation.
- Another successful charity dinner. This event continues as our
major fundraiser and possibly the most publicised and attended
night on the Shire of Cardinia calendar.
- A combined operating surplus of $65459 and a solid net asset base
of $340566.
I would like to personally acknowledge and thank all the trustees
for their support throughout the year and a special mention to
Michelle Tones who did a fantastic job as the Executive Officer and
also Kamya Rook as our bookkeeper.
