Dinner Auction
2011
The Ninth Annual Dinner Auction was held on Friday
29th July 2011
at the Cardinia Cultural Centre
Two hundred and twenty people enjoyed an evening of fine
entertainment provided by Alyce Platt and her group and
great food prepared and served by the Khan Catering
team.
Our Master of Ceremonies, Michael Roberts, provided a
lively program which included the annual auction ably led by
Andrew Facey, who as usual managed to get the best possible
result from a range of nine great prizes which included a trip for
two people to Broome for seven days which drew strong bidding and
raised $4,500.
The Cardinia Foundation Chairman, Brian Paynter, provided
a major highlight of the evening as he presented Grants totalling
$32,600 to five local not for profit groups. Grants allocated
since 2004 total $226,100.
Grants were presented to;
Fernlea House, Emerald
$10,000
Hillview Aged Care, Bunyip
$ 9,500
4C’s Crisis Relief Centre, Pakenham $
5,600
Big Brother Big
Sisters
$ 5,000*
Pakenham Secondary
College
$ 2,500
*In his inimitable style Andrew Facey successfully called
for support to increase this amount to $10,000 which covers the
cost of running a Mentoring program at Pakenham Secondary
College.
Brian Paynter commented that the people of the Shire
of Cardinia and those doing business in the area should be
extremely proud of themselves for again digging deep to raise funds
for worthwhile causes as the nett proceeds from the evening
totalled $56,597.23 from the auction, raffle and silent
auction.
The Trustees sincerely thank all sponsors, donors and
attendees for their support of this major fund-raising dinner
and are pleased to announce plans to conduct the tenth annual
dinner auction on 5th October 2012.
