Community gets mobile

The communities of Koo Wee Rup and Lang Lang are celebrating the arrival of a new community bus. The community bus will be housed at the Koo Wee Rup Regional Health Service for use by them and other local community groups.

The Cardinia Foundation and the Lang Lang Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Community Bank with the support of the Cardinia Shire Council came together to help fund the much needed new community bus costing over $50,000.

Cardinia Foundation board member and Chairman of the Lang Lang Community Bank Mr. Max Papley was keen to assist the local community and

the wonderful work undertaken by the Regional Health Service team.

“We know that the local groups of Koo Wee Rup and Lang Lang will enjoy this new bus as it will ensure that not only the fragile members of our community get transported safely but also active participation in the area can occur with much greater ease.”

Designed specifically for disabled access the bus will be a valuable part of the operations at the Koo Wee Rup Regional Health Service.

The community bus is just one of the several projects that The Cardinia Foundation is providing the shire and its people.
